How to make a album or item viewable from within your user album
The default permisions for your user album is Everybody [core] View all versions, this is not always a good idea. I would recommend removeing all the group permissions in your root album.
The down side is that when you create a new sub-album this album will inherent the group permissions from your root album so you need to go and change it to Everybody [core] View all versions or any way you would like it to be.
Remember that you have all the permissions to view your own items so even after you have linked them they will show for you but not for the guests
How to add a password to an album
There seems to be some problem when adding a password to an album in the users section.
Here is how to set it up so that it will work.
First we create the album, after that go and set the group permission to Everybody [core] View all versions
Then upload your images
After all the images have been uploaded go to Edit Album -> General and add your password
After adding the password go back to the permissions and if all the group permissions has been removed add Everybody [core] View item
When you then look at the permissions of an image it should have only Everybody [core] View item, if you want to show a sample resized image add the group permission Everybody [core] View resized version(s) for that image.
That should be it.
